Miguel Rodriguez is the Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at the Center for American Progress.
Prior to joining American Progress, Rodriguez was a Partner in Bryan Cave’s Public Policy and Government Affairs practice, where he focused on providing advice and counsel in a broad range of regulatory affairs, policy and legislative areas. Previously, Rodriguez served as Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. In this role, he served as President Obama’s primary liaison to the United States Congress, working to advance the administration’s legislative agenda and promote its policy priorities. Among his responsibilities, Rodriguez oversaw the confirmation of the President’s Cabinet. From 2005 to 2009, Rodriguez was Chief Counsel for then Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. There, Rodriguez worked with the Senator to formulate her policy agenda and led her legislative team in developing and implementing policy priorities.
Rodriguez received his BA and JD from the University of Pennsylvania.
